As you all know, I love the Super Bowl, and I love Team In Training and I wanted to bring the two together.
Not so interested in football, but looking for a reason to watch? Love football, but your team didn’t make it this year? The likelihood that I will ever cheer my beloved Lions on in the Super Bowl seems so remote that I need to find some way (other than the promise of funny/interesting commercials) to spice up my Super Bowl Sunday. I’ve found the best way to get cheering is through Super Bowl Squares AND raising money for charity!
Not sure how Super Bowl Squares work? A 10 x 10 board (100 squares) is drawn up, and each square is purchased. Names are randomly assigned to squares numbering from 0-9 on two axes - one for each team. Money is awarded based on the last digit of the score for each team playing in the football game. If the score of the game at the end of the first quarter is Green Bay 14 - Steelers 7 then the individual with the Green Bay 4 square and the Steelers 7 square is the winner.
I’ve got $5 squares with 75% going to my fundraising for the NYC Half Marathon and other 25% paid out. The breakdown:
- $25 for the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters
- $50 for the overall (final score) winner*
Depending on how many people are interested, I will generate a randomized squares board and will post it by Friday. You are free to purchase as many squares as you would like (the more squares you have, the greater the chance of winning!) through the Paypal “Buy Squares Here” button below. If you participate, please note how many squares you want to purchase in the Paypal comments and if you would like something other than your name used, please make that clear as well.
*Note: the payout is contingent upon all squares being purchased.
