My dad, me, Mr. B
Riding the struggle bus today… Sickly Caitlin is sickly.

Yesterday morning I noticed I was a bit sniffly and throughout the day I got progressively more sniffly until last night. Last night it became a full-blown head cold complete with terrible sinus pressure and the inability to breathe out of my poor congested nose. (Oooh, mouth breathing - sexyyyyy.)
After a fitful night of sleep I woke up and made a beeline for the medicine cabinet and the large stockpile of cold medicine there. (If I hear there’s something that might cure what ails me, I’ll take it. Better living through chemistry…) I’m really hoping the Dayquil I took kicks in and helps me make it through the day.
My hermit-esque existence at work and the number of times I find myself putting gloves on and then removing them to wash my hands only to put another pair on, and the sexy surgical mask I wear makes me feel better about potentially infecting coworkers… Mice can’t get rhinovirus or whatever it is that has taken up residence in my body anyway.
Also, because I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seem to be common practice - especially on the subways (ahhhh! germs!) - here is a friendly PSA for all New Yorkers (and everyone really) on the appropriate way to cover your cough or sneeze. If you’re not doing it this way, you’re doin’ it wrong.
