Completed one of my last long runs before the 25k today. What I realized about 2 miles into my 11 mile run, was that the recommendation that I “take it easy and rest” this weekend after donating blood on Friday didn’t mean going for an 11 mile run 2 days after the fact. Whoopsie.
I struggled through the entire run and found myself dizzy at points and winded fairly often. Not the best way to boost my confidence heading into full on taper mode. Kind of kicking myself now for donating so close to my race… Oh well. What’s done is done and it was for a good cause. All I can do now is hydrate, rest a bit, and maybe enjoy some heme-rich food. Steak anybody?
