After 10 incredible days touring the Midwest, Rob and I are back in NYC. There was a lot of driving, but even more love and fun with family and friends.
Now, we both need to shift focus. We negotiated a move while we were away. We’re moving into an apartment 4 doors down the hall in what will likely be the easiest move in NYC-dwelling history. It’s a much bigger apartment and is newly renovated (we were supposed to start the move tomorrow, but they’re still laying our new wood floors). It is going to be so nice to be able to spread out a bit, cook in an actual kitchen with normal-sized appliances, and add another desk.
And that extra desk will come in handy because Rob is starting school on Monday! I’ll keep busy each day with settling in and shuttling stuff down the hall so that we’re mostly settled and ready to ring in the start of college football season next weekend! Thursday - Saturday you can expect to find us posted up on the couch watching football.
I don’t start school again until after the holiday. I got my clinical assignments while I was home and I’m really excited. They all seem to be really great assignments and most of them are nice and close to home.
Being that I have the whole week off next week, I’m hoping to also get back on track with my training. I’ve been awful (seriously, I’m so ashamed) about training and I feel so unmotivated. Time to buckle down and get into a routine. School allows for a lot more out-of-school time because it’s not anywhere near as crazy as summer semester, so if I can get my shit together this weekend and next week I should be ok.
What has everyone been up to?
After an incredibly fun week in the UP, we are making our way back to Grand Rapids for a few more days with my family before kicking off another mini tour of the Midwest. (NYE in Chicago with my sister and her boyfriend and then Milwaukee for a few days with Rob’s sister.)
The UP was a lot of fun. I went to a Packers game (I attempted to post a picture but Tumblr ate the post - naturally), we drank beer in little bars, ate a LOT of good food, played broomball on a frozen lake, and took a sauna.
I’m pretty sure I’m finally rid of the-chest-cold-turned-pneumonia-that-would-not-go-away so I can get back to running with all of the new running clothes I acquired over Christmas. It will be good to get rid of the weight I also acquired over the holidays and while I was sick.
